Teaching Staff

Mr Frank Monagle
Principal
Frank has been a teacher of Secondary Science, specialising in Physics, for 45 years. During that time, he has also had a variety of roles. He was a Housemaster at St Ignatius Riverview before involved as a co-founder of seven schools that placed parents at the centre of a child’s education. In four of these he has been the foundation Principal. Over the years he has taught classes from Kindergarten to Year 12. Frank has Bachelor of Science, a Diploma in Education and a Masters of Educational Administration.



Mr Ian Mejia
Deputy Principal
Ian has 16 years experience as an educator in Catholic and Independent Schools. He has held positions as the Head of Department in Social Sciences, Director of Operations, and more recently served on the Executive of Wollemi College as the Director of Studies. Ian is a passionate educator who has been able to achieve the highest results at HSC level from his students in Economics and Business Studies. He has a Bachelor of Business from UTS, and a Bachelor of Teaching from Western Sydney University. Ian is currently the Deputy Principal of Hartford College.


Mrs Jenny Hoare
Years 5 and 6
Jennifer is a dedicated and passionate teacher with a thirty-four-year career teaching boys in Sydney’s Catholic Independent Schools. She is currently the Year 5/6 teacher at Hartford College. She has a great insight into young adolescent boys' challenges, learning styles and cognitive needs in their transition from Primary to Senior Years. Jennifer is committed to inspiring her students to strive for excellence in all their endeavours whilst nurturing them to become men of faith and virtue. She places great emphasis on working collaboratively with the parents to support the student's educational, character and spiritual formation. She has a Bachelor of Teaching in Primary Education.


Mr James Landon
Year 7
James has a strong background in the Liberal Arts, and has become a secondary teacher, teaching Religion, History, English and Visual Arts. He is currently teaching at Hartford College and is also part of the new Jubilate Deo Sacred Music Program with Sydney Catholic Schools. He has a Bachelor of Arts, in the Liberal Arts from Campion College, and a Master’s in Secondary teaching.


Mrs Bénédicte Uphill
French and Latin
Bénédicte studied Classical languages, French literature and secondary teaching in her native France before moving to Australia in 2015. She has since taught Latin, Classical Greek and French at Tangara School for Girls, Campion College, the Hills Grammar School and Pymble Ladies’ College. She has a Bachelor of Classics, a Master of Research in Classics and a Master of Secondary Education.


Miss Marie Yeo
Music
Marie has over 10 years experience in musicianship, performance education, pedagogical development, and ensemble leadership. She has guided her students to achieving successful AMEB Diplomas, HSC studies and music scholarships to schools including that of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Marie places great emphasis on wholistic human and academic formation, particularly through music and the Trivium. She has a Bachelor of Arts in the Liberal Arts, Licentiate and Associate Diplomas with the Australian Music Examinations Board, a Graduate Diploma in Theology and Philosophy and is currently undertaking her Masters of Secondary Teaching.


Dr Emma Wood
Philosophy
Emma Wood has a PhD in philosophy. Before coming to Hartford, she ran the Philosophy curriculum at PLC Sydney. She now teaches Philosophy at both Hartford and Campion College, and is excited to be part of Australia's growing liberal arts education movement.
Executive and Administration


Mr Michael Mendieta
Chief Executive Officer
Michael has over 10 years’ experience as both a Director and Executive leader. With a Business Banking background, he became a Director at Campion College, and has been an Executive Director for various not-for-profits. He is currently the CEO of Hartford College and Chair of Family Enrichment Australia. He has a Bachelor of Arts in the Liberal Arts, and a Masters in Business Administration.

Mr Paul Murphy
General Administrator
Paul studied at Campion College Australia where he received a Bachelor of Arts, in the Liberal Arts as well as the Community Engagement and Leadership Award. He has a passion for education, especially in literature, history, drama and visual arts. He is an actor, playwright, director and producer in the dramatic arts, as well as being a published novelist. He has worked on marketing and design for many different projects. He is in the process of studying teaching and drama.


Mr James Kotzohambos
IT Support
With over 20 years’ experience in the IT industry, James has been an IT Manager for over 10 years and has a broad knowledge and understanding of IT systems. In his spare time, he assists not-for-profit organisations with their IT systems. He is always attending new courses and re-educating himself on the latest technologies to ensure he delivers the latest technologies available.


Mr Bruno Bezjak
Business Manager
Bruno has over 20 years experience in accounting-related roles. With a corporate finance background, he has held various leadership and technical-focused positions across several companies in various industries including insurance, superannuation, not-for-profits and retail. He is currently Business Manager at Hartford. He has a Bachelor of Business and is a Certified Practicing Accountant.

Tim Mitchell
Chair
Tim is the principal of Bay Legal, a legal practice which he operates with his wife Penny, based in Maroubra Junction. He has been a Member of the Advisory Council of St Mary & St Joseph Maroubra Bay for 15 years. Tim has held and enjoyed a broad range of community roles which have involved the development of a great idea and bringing the vision to fruition through active collaboration with others.


Robert Ash
Director and Treasurer
Robert is a Chartered Accountant and fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accounts of Australia and New Zealand. He has held senior positions in a major firm of Chartered Accountants as well as 20 years in Sydney’s transport sector. More recently he has worked for 5 years as a financial controller of a group of private schools.


Roisin Santucci
Director
Roisin has a career in teaching with experience in both public and private schools. In 2016, Roisin was the founding teacher at a new private school in Melbourne and currently teaches at Ascham School in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs. Roisin is an accredited Experienced Teacher through the AIS and has a Bachelor of Education from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New South Wales.


Penny Wright
Director
Penelope is a practising solicitor with her husband in a firm started in 2005. She holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Masters of Laws having worked in retail banking, funds management and government relations with a major bank. Penelope has been a member of the Board of the Sisters of Charity Foundation and Waverley College, past Chair and Deputy Chair of the NSW Premier’s Youth Advisory Council and is a Trustee of Mary Aikenhead Ministries.


Tim Echevarria
Director
Tim is a medical doctor and completed his degree at the University of New South Wales in 2013. He worked for 3 years at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital before beginning specialty training in Sport and Exercise Medicine. He has worked for a number of elite sport teams including Australian Basketball and the Cronulla Sharks. Tim and his wife, Danica, have 4 young children.
