Scholarships

Hartford College offers a range of scholarships to students who demonstrate an aptitude for academic excellence, a commitment to extra-curricular activities, and appreciation of the Catholic ethos of the school.

Hartford College Scholarships

Hartford College is Australia’s first Liberal Arts school for boys. The school is based in Sydney’s South East.

Our school motto: ‘Dare to think. Dare to know.’ inspires our students to deepen their educational journey so they can take charge of their learning and think outside the box, ask difficult questions and have the courage to live a life of integrity.

Hartford College offers a range of scholarships to students who demonstrate an aptitude for academic excellence, a commitment to extra-curricular activities, and appreciation of the Catholic ethos of the school.

Scholars are expected to strive to maintain high standards of character, as well as academic and co-curricular engagement.

Hartford offers the following scholarships in 2025:

  1. History and Western Civilisation Scholarship
  2. Maths, Science and Technology Scholarship
  3. Literature, Great works, Language and Expression Scholarship

Eligible students will demonstrate achievement in one or more of the following:

  • Academic Excellence

Previous school reports, external testing, and individual academic pursuits.

  • Character and Community Service

Contribution to the community, demonstrated application and diligence, service and charity.

  • Co-Curricular and Personal Pursuits

Demonstrated commitment and achievement in the creative arts, design, sport, and/or personal endeavours.

Hartford students granted scholarships are expected to:

  • Uphold the reputation and values of Hartford College at all times.
  • Demonstrate diligence and academic excellence through their application in class and results within the top 30% of their year group.
  • Willingness and commitment to participate in co-curricular activities and clubs.
  • Attend an annual interview with a member of the school leadership to review academic application, achievement and contribution to school life.

Scholarships do not cover textbooks, uniforms, curriculum and materials levies, excursions, and technology levies.
